Is Generation Z's Perception of Facial Attractiveness Influenced by Social Media in Western Society?

Researchers have extensively studied the scientific factors contributing to facial attractiveness, primarily focusing on traditional elements. However, there is a gap in understanding how these perceptions have evolved with the advent of technology and social media. This study explores how Generation Z, who have grown up with constant digital connectivity, perceive facial attractiveness differently from previous generations. By focusing on Western society, known for shaping global trends, the research examines historical theories, genetic factors, and cultural views, comparing them to modern perspectives shaped by facial filters and the motivations behind facial alteration procedures.
